Washing Machine Repair in Dublin City Centre

We are based on O'Connell Street in Dublin 1 and we are in the centre every day — D01 to D08, north and south of the Liffey, repairing mostly integrated machines in apartments where access, and leaks, need handling properly.

Our base is O'Connell Street, Dublin 1, so the city centre is not a trip out for us — it is home ground, and we run a centre round daily. That round covers the north inner city and Stoneybatter, Phibsborough on the fringe, Temple Bar and the Docklands, Cork Street and the Liberties, and Ringsend and Irishtown on the south side — D01 through to D08. If your machine has stopped, start with our main washing machine repair Dublin page for how booking and pricing work, or go straight to the cost guide: the call-out is €79, credited in full against the repair, most repairs are €149–€249, and major work such as bearings, a motor or a PCB is €279–€420. Prices checked November 2026.

The housing reality in the centre

This is the apartment-densest part of Dublin: 38.5% of homes in the Dublin City Council area are flats. That shapes every job here. Machines are usually integrated, hidden behind a kitchen door in a small kitchen, or stacked as a washer-dryer in a utility cupboard barely wider than the machines themselves. Access runs through management companies and concierges — booked slots, fobs, rules on lifts and common areas. And the consequence of a fault is different from a house in the suburbs: a leak here is not a wet floor, it is the ceiling of the flat below, a management company claim, and two households involved before lunch. That is why leaks are the lead angle in the centre. If water is coming out of your machine now, read our apartment leak guide first, then the washing machine leaking page — turn the machine off and close the inlet tap before you do anything else.

Water in the centre

Supplies vary by street across the centre, so we are careful with numbers here. South of the Liffey, the D02 and D04 side is normally supplied by the Vartry blend at around 75 mg/L, which is on the softer side. For the north centre — D01, D07 and the streets in between — supply can change from one street to the next, and we would rather you checked than we guessed. Our Dublin water hardness guide works it out by Eircode, and it matters: harder water shortens the life of heating elements and leaves limescale in hoses and valves.

Getting an engineer into the centre

The Luas Red and Green lines cross in the centre, and a lot of our centre work sits along them — the Docklands tech-quarter rentals on the Red line side, the Trinity and Temple Bar short-lets, student and young professional flats from Smithfield to Grand Canal Dock. Parking and access are the honest difficulty: loading bays, paid parking, and buildings where the only way in is through a concierge at a set time. We plan around it. The appointment window we give you allows for it, the engineer knows the building rules before arriving, and if a concierge needs the visit booked in advance, tell us when you book and we will work to their slot. We have been doing this since 1999, and centre access is a routine we know, not a surprise on the day.

Renters, landlords and agents

The centre is renter-heavy, so most centre jobs involve a landlord or an agent somewhere in the chain. Under the Housing (Standards for Rented Houses) Regulations 2019, Regulation 7, keeping the machine in good working order rests with the landlord, unless it is the tenant's own machine or the damage is misuse. Our landlord page and the who pays page set that out in plain words, and agents can open an account through our letting agents page. Whoever books us, the terms are the same: a fixed written price before work starts, no second call-out charge, and if the machine is not worth fixing you pay only the €79, with the verdict in writing. Our work carries a 1-year workmanship warranty.

Commonest centre faults

  • Door interlocks on integrated machines: the door will not lock, or will not open after a wash — see door won't open.
  • Leaks: door seals, cracked detergent drawers and hoses perished behind tight units — see washing machine leaking.
  • Not draining: blocked filters and pumps, often coins and hair grips from pockets — see not draining.

Near the centre, we also run daily rounds to North Dublin and South Dublin, and down the coast to Dún Laoghaire & the South Coast. To book the centre round, call 645 465-6305.

Yes — O'Connell Street, Dublin 1. The centre round runs daily, D01 to D08, both sides of the Liffey, so a centre booking is not waiting on an engineer crossing the city.

Turn the machine off at the socket, close the inlet tap behind it if you can reach it safely, and put towels down. Then call us on 645 465-6305. Our apartment leak guide walks through the steps, including telling the management company early.
