If there is one brand our engineers see in Dublin rented homes more than any other, it is Beko. Landlords and letting agents fit Beko washers because they are sensibly priced, simple to use and easy to maintain, and house-shares and family rentals all over the city run on them. The good news is that a Beko is also one of the most repairable machines on the market: the faults are predictable, the parts are in stock, and most jobs are finished on the first visit. Our washing machine repair in Dublin service treats Beko calls as a priority round, because in a rented home a broken washer is never just the tenant problem for long.
Why Beko is the Dublin rental fleet favourite
Walk into a rented apartment in Rathmines, a house-share in Phibsborough or a family rental in Swords and the machine in the kitchen is very often a Beko ProSmart or a basic WTK model. They handle the realities of shared living: heavy use, mixed loads of clothes and towels, tenants who may not clean filters, and wash after wash of detergent at every temperature. Quick-wash programmes that promise a full load in under half an hour are heavily used, which works the pump and lock hard. That usage pattern explains the fault list below, and it is why we stock for it specifically.
The Beko faults we fix every week
Pump and drainage faults
A Beko that will not drain has usually swallowed something: hair, coins from pockets, a stray screw, or a filter so full of lint and soap residue that water simply cannot pass. In house-shares the filter is rarely cleaned, so this is our number one Beko call. The fix ranges from a filter and pump clear to a new drain pump, as set out on our Dublin repair costs page and our not draining guide. Standing water left in the drum breeds germs and smells fast, so do not leave it sitting.
Drive belts and drums that will not turn
If the machine fills and hums but the drum does not turn, the drive belt has snapped or slipped off, often after an overloaded wash. It is one of the cheapest repairs in the book and brings the machine straight back to life. While the back is off we check the drum bearings and motor brushes where fitted, so you are not paying a second call-out for a linked fault.
Door locks and interlocks
Beko door interlocks work hard in shared homes, with the door opened and closed many times a day, sometimes forced before the lock releases. A failed interlock means the cycle will not start, or the machine pauses mid-wash. We keep Beko interlocks in stock because this is a same-visit fix. If the door itself is damaged or the handle snapped, we will quote that separately and honestly.
The landlord angle
Under Regulation 7 of the Housing (Standards for Rented Houses) Regulations 2019, a landlord must provide a washing machine in a rented home and keep it in good working order. When a Beko stops, the obligation, and the cost, sits with the landlord, not the tenant, unless the damage was caused by misuse. Our dedicated landlord washing machine repair service in Dublin is built for this: we deal with letting agents, arrange access with tenants, provide the invoice paperwork agents need, and give our guarantee in writing. For a landlord, a EUR120 to EUR180 pump repair that keeps a tenancy smooth is far better value than a dispute, a rent deduction argument, or a EUR419-plus replacement machine.
Parts in stock, honestly
Beko pumps, belts, interlocks, elements and seals are among the cheapest and most available parts in Ireland, and we carry them on the van as standard. That is the practical reason Beko repairs are so often same-day. The EU Right to Repair, applying in Ireland from 31 July 2026, reinforces this, with parts to remain available for five to ten years and no refusal of support because an independent repairer has worked on the machine.

Repair almost always beats replace on a Beko for the common faults, even on older machines, because parts are so reasonable. The exception is a machine needing bearings and a board together, where we will do the sums with you against a new machine at EUR419 to EUR999+. Tenants: report the fault to your letting agent; landlords and agents: call us direct on 645 465-6305.
