Zanussi has been a fixture in Irish homes for decades, and Dublin is full of them. As part of the Electrolux group, Zanussi machines share a lot of engineering with AEG and Electrolux models, which is good news for parts and repairs. You will find them in the estates built through the eighties and nineties in Fingal and Tallaght, in family homes where the same washer has done the laundry for ten years, and in rentals where a dependable mid-range machine was the obvious choice. Our washing machine repair in Dublin engineers know the range well, from older Jetsystem models to current Lindo machines.
Where we see Zanussi most
Fingal towns like Swords, Donabate and Balbriggan have street after street of Zanussi machines, and Tallaght estates from Oldbawn to Springfield are the same. Many are approaching or past ten years old, which is exactly the age where a pump, element or lock gives out while the drum, motor and cabinet still have years left in them. That makes Zanussi one of the most satisfying brands to repair: one sensibly priced part often returns the machine to full service, washing clothes, bedding and towels as well as ever.
E20 and E30 - the Zanussi drain codes
E20 is the classic Zanussi drain fault: the machine cannot empty the water from the drum. The filter is the first check, and on Zanussi models it can be awkward to reach, so take care not to cross-thread it when refitting. Hair, lint, coins and detergent sludge are the usual findings. E30 is a related drainage and water-level family of codes on many Electrolux-group machines, pointing to drain problems or the pressure system that measures water level. Our dedicated guide to Zanussi error E30 explains the family properly, and our machine not draining guide covers the shared checks. If the filter is clean and the codes return, the drain pump is worn and replacement is a straightforward, economical job.
Other Zanussi faults we fix
Heating elements are a regular Zanussi job, especially where the water is harder. Estates normally supplied by Leixlip at around 200 mg/L, including parts of Fingal, scale elements and coat the drum in limescale far faster than soft-water areas on Ballymore Eustace at around 50 mg/L. A failing element means longer cycles, lukewarm washes and poor stain removal, because modern detergent needs the right temperature to work on dirt and soil. Door locks wear on older machines, leaving you with a washer that will not start or that pauses waiting for a lock signal. Bearings eventually rumble on high-mileage machines; a spin that sounds like a jet taking off is bearings, not a balancing problem, and we will price it honestly.
Parts in Ireland for Electrolux-group machines
Because Zanussi shares parts across the Electrolux group, pumps, elements, locks, seals and pressure switches are widely stocked in Ireland and sensibly priced, and the common items travel on our van. Boards for older models can occasionally take longer, and we will confirm availability before you commit to a board-level repair. From 31 July 2026, the EU Right to Repair applies in Ireland: parts must be available for five to ten years, and a manufacturer cannot refuse support because an independent repaired the machine before. We are independent repairers and our guarantee is given in writing.

Repair or replace - the Zanussi verdict
Repair wins for most Zanussi faults, even on machines of ten or twelve years, because group parts keep prices down. A pump or element at a fraction of the EUR419 to EUR999+ cost of a new machine, on a washer with a sound drum and motor, is money well spent and keeps a working appliance out of the waste stream. We will steer you to replacement only where bearings and electronics fail together on a tired machine. In rented homes, Regulation 7 of the Housing (Standards for Rented Houses) Regulations 2019 makes the washing machine the landlord responsibility, so tenants should pass the error code to their letting agent and landlords can book us direct on 645 465-6305.
